This painting is a part of my "The Pain of Dance" series, which features all paintings of real bruises sustained from dance. It is an ode to dancers and to how gruesome beauty can be. This bruise is actually my own; I hope this painting can communicate not just the pain of the bruise, but the passion and art that went into it's creation.
